Spay and Neuter

We recommend spaying (ovariohysterectomy) and neutering (castration) on all pets starting at 4-6 months of age on up. Vouchers from Apple Valley Animal Control and San Bernardino County are accepted. Surgery is offered Monday through Friday. Please make an appointment for this service so we may assure adequate time and attention for your pet - and to answer any of your questions! Admission is 7-8 am. Your pet should be fasted prior to the procedure. Please allow 20 minutes for admission.

ALL pets receive pre-anesthetic pain medication to stop any pain before it starts. ALL patients are monitored during surgery with electric pulse oximetery.

Pre-anesthetic blood work is option*, but recommended because it gives us more information about the health and function of your pets organ systems - assisting us in determine surgical risk during anesthesia.

Intravenous fluid therapy is also an option* - allowing us to adjust your pets blood pressure easily during the procedure and providing an open port to a vein in case of an emergency.

ALL spay/neuter patients receive post-operative pain medication to go home FREE OF CHARGE. We are a "pain-free" hospital and understand the value of having our patients comfortable during the mending process.

*Due to increased anesthetic risks, all pets over 7 years of age are required to have pre-anesthetic blood work and intravenous fluids during the procedure.
